• In 1844, under British rule, Mauritius became the third country in the world to be introduced to golf.
• Our island hosts eight 18-hole golf courses and five nine-hole golf courses, each of which provides a unique golfing experience to the visitor.
• With its natural beauty, good climate and unique cultural blend, Mauritius is an island that has so much to offer.

Golf is one of them. • One of Mauritius’ key objectives is to position itself as the best golf destination in the Indian Ocean, year-on-year, and so become a major reference point for the global golf industry. In 2008, the island was awarded the title of
Golf Destination of the Year – Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Gulf States – by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

Legend Golf Course Belle Mare

Designed in 1994 by the South-African champion Hugh Baiocchi, The Legend is the oldest golf course at Constance Belle Mare Plage. Integrated in a hunting reserve, one could find oneself face to face with a deer at any moment. Numerous traps await golfers along the 18 holes with many water features as well as unforgiving roughs and ‘out of limits’. The course showcases some magnificent holes, such as the 17th: a splendid Par 3 requiring a perfect iron over the lagoon. Ideally, this course would be played at the end of the day so that one may appreciate the beautiful light of sunset. The Legend Golf Course is a relatively short course, but quite technical, narrow and requiring precision and concentration during play. Links Golf Course - Belle Mare

The Links is the second oldest course at Belle Mare Plage. It was designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Allisand, and opened in November 2002. The clubhouse sits above the course and faces the mountains and setting sun, but also gives panoramic views over the ocean. The natural setting of the course, over rolling links style terrain, is complemented by excellent fairways and firm greens. A special feature is the volcanic rock, piled high to form pyramid like structures that dot the course. Le Touessrok Golf Course - Ile aux Cerfs

Designed by Bernhard Langer, this beautiful course is located within the unique and magical setting that is Ile aux Cerfs, an islet on the East coast. Created in perfect harmony with the natural elements of the island, the layout embraces the idyllic coves and the grandiose relief of the island. Today considered one of the most stunning courses in the world, it remains nevertheless a complex course to play. Narrow fairways, playing the ball over some very long obstacles, many ‘blind shots’ and the rolling greens make this course very technically-demanding and hard to score. Four Seasons Golf Club

The Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita was designed by Ernie Els. It is a 18-hole golf course of 6,828 meters, Par 72 and 5 sets of tees. 6 ocean-front holes from the 18th are offering one of the most spectacular finishes in the world. Set between the crystalline lagoon and the lush greenery of the neighboring hills, this beautiful course has perfectly embraced its natural location. Heritage Golf Course

Built on the old sugar domain of Bel Ombre, the Golf du Chateau is one of the most stunning creations of Peter Matkovich. Its 18 beautiful holes all have very different layouts which integrate into the beautiful setting of undulating terrain, and the rivers Citronniers and Saint Martin; both lined by centenarian trees. The principal characteristic of this golf course resides in an original and pertinent conception with several tees, allowing golfers of all levels to play. Seasoned players can try the back tees, which make the golf course long and testing. Other players will enjoy discovering this excellent course highlighted with several tricky bunkers and water features from the front tees. Le Paradis Golf Club

Paradis’ Golf Course, is also accessible to guests of all Beachcomber Hotels. It is an 18-hole, Par 72 golf course, stretching 5,924 metres between the iconic Morne mountain and the crystal-clear lagoon of the Morne Peninsula. Much of the creative design of some bunkers and fairways is attributable to international golf legend Tony Johnstone, who has spent some years playing the course through its many evolutionary stages. Guests tee off a mere 20 meters from the beach and Reception area, and play the fairways towards the mountain.
